Google News Experiments with Displaying Author Names in Article Snippets

Google News appears to be in the process of experimenting with the inclusion of author names beneath the publication title in its article card snippet interface.

This is not the first time Google has tested such a feature. It previously conducted similar tests for Google Discover stories and the Top Stories section in Google Search.

The latest test is specifically for articles that appear on Google News at news.google.com. (Snapshot provided by Barry Schwartz)

Shalom Goodman highlighted this new development and commented, "This is the inaugural instance I've noticed authors being displayed within Google News.

We have not seen this in Google News (Canada) as of yet, nor have we been able to replicate it, so perhaps Google is only testing this on the US News network.

Perhaps this is Google's strategy to bolster the credibility of authors." While the author of the article hasn't personally observed this feature, they speculate that Goodman's observation might be accurate.

Note: The article also mentioned a forum discussion and a previous story about Google clarifying its cryptocurrency ads policy for blockchain games with NFTs, but these details were not elaborated upon.
